Field recording of the tail end of a brief rain shower recorded approximately 1 foot (30 cm) from the sidewalk and 183cm from the street. You will hear rain pattering against the sidewalk, passing cars, one group talking while walking past, distant dogs, and birds.

I set up three mics in our flat and went out drinking. The sound is mostly traffic and drunk people.

Taken at about midnight on a saturday night / sunday morning while waiting at a bus stop on indian canyon drive in palm springs, ca. I used a tascam dr-07mk2 recorder.

A recording made on a walk to jokhang temple in lhasa in june 2004, using a sharp minidisc recorder and a sony stereo microphone. Sound has been modified to highlight the rhythm of my feet on the pavement (a bit more echo than on mix 5).

In 's-hertogenbosch in holland we have carnival every year. This is a recording in the centre of the city. A recording of several 'dweilorkesten' that is a band that plays musing in the street. 'literal' translation is 'mop band or mopping band'. The go trough the streets like someone mopping the floor. This recording at the market-place is made with hundreds of people around. The ambience here is totally different from other places in the town and the world. It complete different than the south american carnival. Recorded: march 7th 2011, markt, 's-hertogenbosch, holland. This is a long recording taken in the backyard of my neighborhood on july 4, 2021. There are lots of distant (and a few closer) booms and explosion sounds. Kind of sounds like a war going on! in this longer recording a plane also flies overhead, and someone drives down the street.

Location: tijuana, mexicotime: december, 2016. Riding a route taxi through the streets of tijuana. It's the evening on a weekday and people are coming off work. An ambulance cruises by. Passengers are silent most of the ride until minute 4:40 when the driver stops on a busy boarding zone. Coins jingle when people pay the driver. The door slides open and you can hear people on the street chatting, while passengers get off and new ones come in.

The microphones are facing across the street to the el tracks which cross diagonally across the block at this point. The curvature of the tracks causes the squeaking of the wheels. Trains heading into the loop (north) tend to travel more slowly than those heading south. Cars accumulate at the intersection of harrison and wabash to the south (left). Time of recording was 5:41pm. The street is quite busy with traffic and has been mic'd close-range, giving quite a wide stereo image. One can clearly hear the rotten weather this clip was recorded in.

This is an ambient recording of the late night crowd of kids at 14th street unions square nyc. It's where the market usually is during the day. There is some traffic present but it's mostly about the voices and energy of teens. You can hear the clack and roll of skate boards, voices and gritty near by footsteps. The file contains walla quality voices and up close stuff that you can understand. It is a tad left heavy so you may have to adjust if you are using it for stereo.
